The Bastap's Journey Achieved Liftoff in 2012

Our Story
The Bastap was founded in 2012 after a local businessman in Carmen sold his eatery and bakeshop to Charo Barro and her partner.
Having seen the opportunity in the bustling location that always stood as a bus and rest stop for travelers moving to and fro of Northern Cebu, she also found the special gift of culinary craftsmanship of local bakers who had been baking native delicacies by hand and whose skills and techniques have been carried over through generations, dating back hundreds of years.
If each the location and the talented baking made for immense opportunities, combining both served to be a multiplier effect, and in giving it a new name, The Bastap was born.
So named as a play on the local pronunciation of the place, The Bastap thrived with the expected fare of quality food and beverage for travelers, and amid the various travel amenities and facilities that the company provides, Ms. Barro focused on building on its success through more investment in the business and continually adding more value to its food offerings and dining experience of customers.
Almost a decade after its founding, the company, like its founder, is eyeing the world. First with a clear and distinct development of its delicacies as a major focus. And now with a two-pronged approach in providing value to more people through its growth. Growth in the erection of more stores geographically. And growth by moving into new and innovative pursuits, particularly going through the early stages of its venture online.
And that is an entirely new adventure for the company, in its quest to reach, serve, and benefit its patrons everywhere.
